Who runs this app
Brandon Valley Lunch is an independent app made by Scratch Marketing & Solutions. It is not run by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Brandon Valley School District. It shows information the district, its schools and their partners publish publicly. For anything official, check with your school.
What stays on your phone
- Your students' names or nicknames
- Lunch lines and food allergies
- Checklists, the sick-day count, and your settings
These never leave your phone, except inside a setup link you choose to send to another parent.
What our server keeps
- Family code: for each student, the school, graduating class and the teams you follow. This keeps your phones and calendar subscriptions in step. No names.
- Notifications (only if you turn them on): your phone's notification address, which messages you chose, your language, and the family code. No names; your phone adds them when a message arrives.
- Reports you send with "Something wrong here?": your message and what it was about.
- Usage counts: once a day, an anonymous count of phones that opened the app and which schools they follow. Nothing identifies you or your phone.
- Questions you ask (Ask, in search): your question and your students' schools, grades and teams, no names, go to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, to write the answer under its API terms. Our server does not keep your questions or the answers.
- Searches that found nothing: the words only (numbers and email addresses removed), so the district can see what parents look for and the app doesn't answer yet. Nothing identifies who searched.
What we don't do
- No accounts, passwords, grades, attendance or location.
- No advertising, tracking cookies, or selling or sharing data.
- We never contact your school on your behalf.
How long we keep it
- Family codes not used for 12 months are deleted.
- Notification sign-ups are deleted when you turn notifications off or your phone stops accepting them.
- Reports and unanswered searches are deleted after 6 months.
Removing your information
Remove your students under Students and turn off notifications; that clears this phone and stops messages. To have a family code deleted from our server sooner, contact us with the code.
